Review of Snoop Dogg's 20th album 'Missionary', a collaboration with Dr. Dre.

Making such a list is truly challenging. Knowing that there's no way we can include albums released late in the year (because we haven't heard them yet) just makes it trickier. But hey, too much great music is always a good problem to have.have made our list had we heard them before making our final decisions. The Snoop one probably wouldn't. Sorry Snoop. Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre helped shape modern hip hop with Snoop's 1993 debut.

Missionary sees the collaborators link up again with mixed results.Whether you know them as the two most influential figures in hip hop history, or just as the bloke with the headphones and the stoner from the Olympics: Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg have long transcended the world of music But hip hop remains their true love, and it's with significant excitement that these two icons team up for Snoop's 20th album, Missionary, 31 years after Dre produced Snoop's legendary debut, Doggystyle. The good thing about Missionary is that Snoop and Dre can still deliver verses with devastating effect on the mic.the good doctor spits on 'Outta Da Blue', and he does it with such confidence that it feels like there's no possible way he could be wrong. Meanwhile, Snoop's relaxed flow and occasionally clever wordplay feel timeless. His verses remain reliably excellent throughout. Sadly, there's plenty about Missionary that just doesn't hit. Besides a couple of classic bonnet-rattling beats on tracks like 'Sticcy Situation' and 'Hard Knocks', the music and production is nowhere near as thrilling as Dre's finest work.Photo shows Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar stand on a white stage before an aerial map of Compton Eminem takes a knee, 50 Cent hangs upside down, Kendrick Lamar is in a cardboard box, and Snoop, Dre and Mary J. Blige prove they're GOATs There's an insistence on interpolation that rarely work
