SoCal's enviable weather will stay one more day, but a long-lasting rain storm will arrive starting Tuesday night.As the rest of the nation continues to struggle with a powerful cold storm, Southern California will see one more day of warm weather - and then a long string of rainy days.
Monday will be mostly clear and sunny, with temperatures in the 70s and low 80s. The rain will begin Tuesday night and is expected to continue at least through New Year's Day. On Monday, Los Angeles and Orange counties can expect sunny skies and temperatures hitting a high of 77 degrees. Temperatures will drop to the low 60s on Tuesday and the rain will begin that evening.
The valleys and Inland Empire can expect similar conditions on Monday with a high of 79 degrees and some clouds and breezes. More rain will fall in the valleys than the Inland Empire.Mountain communities should expect a high of 63 degrees on Monday, dropping to 31 at night. A relatively light amount of snow is expected during the week's storm, at elevations over 6,000 feet.
