Danny Hodgson is fighting for his life in hospital with significant head injuries after being attacked in Perth's CBD, but his UK-based parents are unable to be by his bedside because of a lack of flights.
A talented 25-year-old Perth soccer player is in Royal Perth Hospital with critical injuries following an apparently random attack in Perth's CBD on Saturday.His parents have been unable to get a seat on a flight from the UKFriends and family said Danny Hodgson, an Edith Cowan University soccer club star and 2020 Football West Golden Boot winner, was leaving the city with teammates when he was punched from behind near Perth Train Station.
Mr Hodgson's parents live in the UK but have reportedly been granted permission to enter WA to be by their son's bedside. "Danny is a great player, but more importantly he is a great bloke who is extremely popular with his teammates," he said in a statement.
