Socceroos stars Mat Ryan and Harry Souttar have voiced their support for coach Graham Arnold amid uncertainty over his next move.

Arnold led the squad to the Round of 16 for just the second time in history and marked the country's most successful World Cup campaign with two wins.

“I think results speak for themselves and he’s become the most successful Australian manager ever with the results that he’s gotten and he’s been riding a real wave of success and momentum,” Ryan said after arriving back in Sydney. “Obviously I have faith in the organisation to make that decision and Arnie himself has to be wanting and willing to continue as well.Defender Harry Souttar echoed the captain’s comments and said all the players had a good relationship with Arnold and enjoyed playing under his leadership.

“I think he’s the best man manager I’ve worked under and he just gets the feeling of the players and as a group of players we all love to play for him.” The Socceroos made it to the Round of 16 at the World Cup for the first time since 2006 under Arnold's leadership. “Graham is taking a break for six weeks where we will review the opportunities that have come to us.”
