As Brits eagerly take advantage of English pubs and other venues reopening, the police federation says 'social distancing with alcohol is a real issue'.
Britons have taken full advantage of their first chance in more than three months to have a pint at a pub.The Police Federation of England and Wales said "alcohol and social distancing does not mix"Pubs were allowed to start serving from 6:00am on Saturday
"I have spoken to colleagues across other forces and, although the picture differs, what is crystal clear is that alcohol and social distancing does not mix," Mr Apter said. "There was a prediction of carnage, there was a lot of apprehension and policing had to change the way it was approached this Saturday," he said.
The number of customers at pubs was limited, however, and no-one could stand at the bar. Nor was there live music.
