San Diego will take on Chihuahua in Mexico at 7:05 p.m.; club will hold watch party at North Park bar
The San Diego Sockers will continue their quest for a third straight Ron Newman Cup on Tuesday, when they take on the Chihuahua Savage in Game 1 of the MASL’s Western Conference finals. The match will kick off at 7:05 p.m. in Mexico, with Game 2 and aTuesday’s match will be streamed live in Spanish on Twitch @masl_soccer, and in English @sandiegosockers. The club will hold a watch party at North Park’s Fairplay Bar, 4026 30th St.
The Sockers have won 12 consecutive matches, giving them homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.The Western Conference finals are a rematch of last year’s playoff showdown between San Diego and Chihuahua. The Sockers fell 7-6 in overtime in Game 1, won Game 2, 6-2, then outscored Chihuahua 4-1 in the MASL’s “Knockout Game.” The club has won 26 consecutive matches at home since Jan. 8, 2022.. Chihuahua needed three games to beat Monterrey in the first round.
