Cricket: Kamran Ghulam has scored a century on Test debut for Pakistan, in the 2nd Test against England.

Ghulam tons up on debut against England | 00:49A social media post from former Pakistan prime minister and cricket captain Imran Khan ’s ex-wife has sparked fears for the health and safety of the 72-year-old.

Raoof Hasan, a spokesperson for the party, told Time Magazine that Khan’s personal physician was denied entry to visit him in jail on Tuesday despite a court order and waiting for hours outside. Controversy surrounded the dismissal as some alleged it was due to a foreign conspiracy dubbed ‘Lettergate’ after a diplomatic telegram that stated that the United States of America had expressed a desire for Khan to be removed from office due to his neutral stance on the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Shortly after Khan was given 14 years imprisonment over the gift’s incident, and then he and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were handed an additional seven years because her former husband complained that she had not completed her Iddat – the period in Islam a woman must observe after the death of her husband or divorce before she marries another man.

Khan’s continued detainment could lead to further instability in Pakistan with Hasan also telling Time Magazine that the supporters of the party are likely to take to the streets again.
