Sky News host Rita Panahi says Victoria’s public servants make it “pretty clear they can only work with one side of politics” while their personal politics make them “border line activists” as a senior public servant praised the Melbourne protests.

Sky News host Rita Panahi says Victoria’s public servants make it “pretty clear they can only work with one side of politics” while their personal politics make them “border line activists” as a senior official praises the Melbourne protests. The Director of the Victorian Office for Women in Sport Bridie O’Donnell – a medical doctor – tweeted her support for the Black Lives Matter protests despite advice from the chief medical officer and the premier.

Ms Panahi told Sky News host Peta Credlin, Premier Daniel Andrews may have told protesters not to attend the rally but he “ensured there was a bumper crowd” because he announced earlier in the week no fines would be handed out. “If you want people not to show up, then you enforce the law and you fine people and that’s how you reduce the numbers,” she said. “When you tell them that it’s a free for all then of course the crowd is going to be far bigger than it otherwise would be.
