Some Within Lakers Would Still Like To Re-Sign D'Angelo Russell - RealGM Wiretap
D'Angel Russell will be a free agent this offseason after an uneven playoff run with the Los Angeles Lakers that has led some to believe they will let him move on in free agency.
Russell's market is an open question as he comes off his four-year, $117 million contract signed with the Golden State Warriors in 2019. For some of Russell's flaws, he does eat up minutes during the regular season as a playmaker. "I actually think there are corners of the organization that would still like D'Angelo Russell back just because they have a void at that position," said Zach Lowe on his podcast."They need a point guard."
While the Lakers could be open to re-signing Russell, it does appear evident he is lower on their list of priorities than Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura.
