A young family has had a lucky escape after an out-of-control car ploughed into their home Melbourne's south-east.

Police believe the driver was travelling along Hallam Road when they lost control and crashed into a home. "I'm just requesting to public to ... drive safely, to be watched for the next person's life as well," he said."I think they need to have more police watch it."
