The crash, which claimed the life of a pedestrian, happened Saturday in Baton Rouge, La. about two miles from the campus of Louisiana State University.
reports Walter Brister IV struck and killed a pedestrian Saturday evening in Baton Rouge, La. His attorney said Brister “did not realize he was the person responsible until the following morning.”
The attorney also said he told authorities about Brister’s role in the death of 44-year-old Jude Jarreau “within hours” of the crash.reports Brister’s “Range Rover left the scene of the crash, but witnesses were able to describe the vehicle to investigators, and debris left behind by the SUV helped police identify Brister as the driver.”
Brister turned himself in on Wednesday and was charged with felony hit-and-run. Brister subsequently posted $10,000 bond and was released Wednesday evening.The victim was laid to rest on Thursday. WAFB reports the father of two died at the scene.
