The Western Bulldogs have added former cricketer James O’Donnell to their list as a category B rookie. 7NEWS 7AFL
, having been a talented junior - he played in the Victorian under-12 schoolboys’ team alongside current North Melbourne midfidler, Will Phillips.
James will be a third-generation O’Donnell to play footy at the highest level, with grandfather, Kevin, having played 49 games, also for the Saints, in the 1940s.The new Dog played school footy for Xavier College, but hasn’t played a game since 2019, having chosen to pursue cricket. “We’ve had our eye on James across the year and we’re really excited that he’s chosen to return to football with the Western Bulldogs,” Milesi said.
