The son of slain crime boss Nabil Maghnie has been found guilty of murder over the revenge-driven shooting of two men outside a Melbourne nightclub.
Elliott, 21, was on Thursday found guilty of two charges of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one of intentionally causing serious injury by a Supreme Court jury that deliberated over six days from last week. A third man, Moussa Hamka, 28, was found guilty of one charge of assisting an offender over an attempt to conceal the others’ involvement in the shooting, but not guilty on a second charge of assisting an offender. The shooting came hours after Elliott’s half-brother, Ali Maghnie, was thrown out of the nightclub for poor behaviour, after which he complained to their father, Nabil Maghnie, that security guards “kicked the f--- out of me” in the street.
