Souled Out, the Australian R&B festival, has been cancelled just weeks before its scheduled launch. Organizers cited financial viability challenges and a difficult market as reasons for the cancellation. Refunds for ticket holders will be automatic.

Souled Out has become the latest Aussie festival to be cancelled after festival organisers made the “very difficult” decision to call off the event. The R&B festival was less than two weeks out from its launch date with Melbourne fans expecting to attend the event on February 22 before it travelled to Sydney on February 23 and then Brisbane on February 28. Artists including Don Toliver, Vince Staples and Jhené Aiko were slated to headline.

“Despite our best efforts, the event did not reach the level of support needed to remain financially viable. Like many festivals in Australia, we have faced ongoing challenges in the current market. “After exploring every possible option, we’ve had to make the tough call to cancel this year’s edition of Souled Out.” Organisers confirmed everyone who bought tickets would receive automatic refunds before encouraging fans to use the money towards “supporting live music and festivals”.
