Soup kitchen user 'hit by food delivery van' in Glasgow as police charge man

The charity's co-funder, Colin McInnes, said his volunteers were 'shocked' after the incident, said to have taken place at 9.40pm on Tuesday, August 29.

A man has been charged after a soup kitchen user was allegedly hit by a food delivery van in Glasgow.

Emergency crews were rushed to the scene and he was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment, where his current condition is unknown. Officers investigating the alleged collision say a 51-year-old man has since been charged in connection. He added: "Thanks to Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service and Total Control Security Ltd for assisting us."

"A 51-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
