It happened on South Orange Avenue in Newark at around 7 p.m.the police officers wounded in the shooting Tuesday afternoon are being treatedA police cruiser sped up to the hospital with that wounded little girl and so many of those officers already present to support the wounded cops rushed to help her, CBS2's Tim McNicholas reported.Police say she is one of three people shot on South Orange Avenue. The other two victims are adults.
"I'm asking you, Mr. Mayor, put a stop to this, man! Because it has to stop! You need to put your foot down. We need you out here, bro. Put a stop to this, because this is crazy. It's ridiculous, and people are losing their lives every day. It has to stop!" Newark resident Malenda Hamlett said.Officers also haven't said anything about a motive in that shooting.
