South Australia has recorded another increase in daily COVID-19 cases, with nearly 1,000 new infections. 7NEWS
SA Health is urging the community to closely monitor themselves for symptoms and get tested as soon as any appear.
The state has now eclipsed 5200 new cases since November 23. More than four in five are the new Omicron variant.It comes as Premier Steven Marshall announced new restrictions for South Australia on Sunday following the state’s highest daily tally of COVID-19 cases.Mr Marshall moved to tighten density limits and reduce family gatherings after the state posted a record 774 new infections on Sunday.
The premier said he would move quickly to ensure new daily infections wouldn’t descend into the thousands over the coming days and weeks.“It will overwhelm our health system and seriously undermine our workforce’s ability to respond to this Omicron outbreak.
