Residents in major cities across south-east Australia are bracing for a wet and blustery end to the week as a frosty cold snap lingers.

Adelaide, Melbourne and Hobart brace for 'wet and windy' end to the week, as residents continue to shiver through bitter cold snap

"So it’s a wet and windy end to the week for the south-east," Sharpe said during his Wednesday forecast. Sharpe said Adelaide is expected to see a low of 9C on Saturday, reaching a top of 15C, while Melbourne is set to be slightly cooler at 8C to 13C. Meanwhile in Brisbane, it is likely to be a chilly start to Saturday at 9C, before temperatures increase to a balmy 23C during the day.

"On Tuesday and Wednesday, cold days and chilly nights, passing showers, flurries of snow in the mountains and hazardous surf in Tas, NSW, Vic, southern Qld are likely," it wrote on X. The forecast comes as some towns and cities in south-eastern Australia smashed winter records on Tuesday.
