The victim of a suspected South San Francisco hit and run suffered spinal and rib fractures, police said.
A man was in critical but stable condition on Monday morning after he was apparently struck by a hit and run driver last week, according to the South San Francisco Police Department.
At 9:44 p.m. on Feb. 9, police were alerted after passersby found a 71-year old man lying down in a roadway near the 1200 block of El Camino Real in South San Francisco. Investigators found that the man was riding a bicycle when he stopped and stood in the bike lane; while stationary, he was struck from behind.
The suspect vehicle left the scene. Police said the vehicle was possibly a green sedan with a light-colored roof. It was last spotted heading southbound on El Camino Real.
