PennDOT announced that southbound I-83 detours have been lifted following weekend construction.
Traffic is flowing again on southbound I-83 in Swatara Township after a weekend closure, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said in a Sunday afternoon release.night to replace damaged beams along Paxton Street bridge spanning the interstate.
The bridge, which carries traffic from southbound I-83 to Paxton Street at Exit 45, is open to traffic. Southbound I-83 detours has also been lifted, according to the release. PennDOT’s release confirmed construction will continue along northbound I-83 and detours will remain in place.
