Splendour In The Grass 2024 line-up features Kylie Minogue, Arcade Fire, and Future – what does that mean for the festival?It's one of the most exciting days of the year for music lovers in Australia. Even if you're not planning on attending. We've seen a string of festivals cancelled recently, while others have pulled notably smaller crowds. It's an even tougher time than usual to be in the festival business.
The thought of their crowd generating a dust storm in the amphitheatre gets me very excited ., who fill the IDLES/Amyl & The Sniffers element on this year's bill.. She had — to my ears — the best Australian album of 2023 and her songwriting and stage show has really levelled up. I loved Arcade Fire and loved seeing them live. But with these allegations floating around their frontman, I personally cannot push that to one side to enjoy their show. It feels like a bung move from the promoters.Yep, I feel strongly that there are plenty of other acts Splendour could have booked instead of Arcade Fire. I'd also argue that they're not evengreat a drawcard in 2024.
