Organisers of NSW festival, Splendour In The Grass, have apologised after hundreds of wet revellers were forced to wait hours for transport in queues on Saturday night. 9News

Festival bosses admitted there was a shortage of bus drivers after the day's events, near Byron Bay, ended at 2am, and said around 1000 people were affected.

Hundreds of festival goers attempted to get ahead of the crowds by exiting Splendour in the Grass early, only to be met with huge queues and wait times.
