The St. Johns County Emergency Management Citizen Information Line has opened to help answer residents’ questions about Hurricane Ian.
That includes parts of St. Augustine in the eastern part of the county as well as in the southwestern corner of the county in Hastings and Flagler Estates.
The message county officials were trying to get out Monday is any residents who were flooded in St. Johns County during Hurricane Irma, expect to see flooding again with Ian. One person who lives in southern Ponte Vedra Beach told News4JAX he’s actually already booked a hotel room in Jacksonville if he needs to evacuate.
A woman from Hastings said her family keeps canned goods and gallons of water stocked throughout the year and they’re also making sure their cars are gassed up in case they need to evacuate.
