"Any old visitor who [goes to] the site needs to know what it is, whether or not they know about an iPhone app," Hope said. "This isn’t a gimmick or a stand in. We’re doing this to raise awareness, to elevate Chanel Miller's voice in the space and to create collective memory, as well as to show this technology can be an interesting way to contextualize public spaces that are fraught like this one.
