Sabalenka suffered a rocky start, beginning the match with a double fault. She immediately followed that up with an ace to energise the Rod Laver Arena crowd. Historically, the stats were against Sabalenka going into the second set. In the Open era, just 10 Australian Open finals have been won from a set down.
