Wedding bells were ringing at Jillaroos star Ali Brigginshaw’s 30th birthday bash as she surprised her girlfriend by popping the question. Congratulations, Ali! 🍾👏🎉
The Broncos, Queensland and Jillaroos playmaker was giving a speech before breaking from the script and dropping to one knee.
Taking to social media after the big development, Brigginshaw wrote: “Couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my 30th than asking the girl of my dreams to marry me in front of the most amazing family and friends.Daly was just as thrilled. “Thankyou so much to everyone who has messaged and called since last night, and to everyone who was there to watch this special moment happen,” she said on Instagram.
A gun with the ability to pass, kick and run, the 30-year-old helped the Jillaroos to a 28-8 win over New Zealand in a Test in October after the Silver Ferns had shocked the Aussies with an upset victory in the World Cup 9s final earlier that month. “Kate is the reason why I train hard, my family is a reason I train hard, and I go up and give them a big hug and a kiss and that doesn’t mean any different to when I go up and give her a kiss.
