The Browns have delivered the upset of the season, with backup PJ Walker leading Cleveland to a win over the previously-unbeaten 49ers.
49ers kicker Jake Moody had a chance to win the game for San Francisco, but missed it wide right, giving the Browns a shock 19-17 victory. McCaffrey was able to score a touchdown for the 15th straight game before the injury, tying the NFL record.QB Brock Purdy, who would have been leading most experts’ MVP rankings before Week 6, struggled with his two best weapons sidelined.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence also sustained an injury late in the win over the Colts, but didn’t seem too concerned post-game.“Walking around all right. It’s a little bit bruised, too, so just trying to kind of sort through what it is now.” Cleveland started the game $4.75 outsiders against the 49ers, with many not giving them a hope, especially with starting QB Deshaun Watson once again out with a rotator cuff injury.
Cleveland’s defense handed in a poor performance against the Ravens in their most recent match up, but were back to their brilliant best on Monday morning, shutting a potent offense to just 17 points.
