Star Trek: Legacy has a surprising amount in common with Star Trek: Discovery, and can potentially learn from that show’s successes and mistakes.
Legacy is producer Terry Matalas' proposed spinoff to the recently concluded Star Trek: Picard. The show would chronicle the adventures of Captain Seven Of Nine aboard the USS Enterprise-G. She would be joined by familiar faces from Picard season 3 including First Officer Raffi Musiker and newly graduated Ensign Jack Crusher .
How At first glance, Star Trek: Legacy and Star Trek: Discovery don't seem like they overlap much thematically, taking place in different centuries with entirely different production crews and storytelling sensibilities. That said, there are some surface-level similarities, as well as some deeper ties.
