Darth Vader is officially StarWars' next hero. Faced with a threat to the galaxy itself, Vader has been pushed into action by the Eye of Webbish Bog, who argues that, 'even Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith, is part of the galaxy.'

Contains spoilers for Star Wars: Revelations #1!A new Star Wars comic suggests that Darth Vader is about to become the galaxy's savior, and the explanation for why is right out of the MCU's Guardians of the Galaxy. If you want to control the galaxy, then you need a galaxy to control.

Marvel’s Star Wars comic line has explored many of the galaxy's mysteries and hidden characters, and one of the most significant is the Eye of Webbish Bog. This ancient Dark Side being lives on Mustafar and has influenced both Darth Vader and Kylo Ren during its time. The spider-like Eye also has visions of the future, and its latest revelation suggests doom for the entire Galaxy, if one unlikely hero doesn't step forward.

Darth Vader's Heroism Is Still Ultimately Self-Serving While Vader may indeed end up saving the galaxy, this isn't necessarily the beginning of his eventual redemption. Interestingly, Vader’s self-serving "heroism" also mirrors a forgotten theory from Star Wars’ pre-Disney Legends canon. In this continuity, one of the main threats to the entire galaxy post-original trilogy was the Yuuzhan Vong, an invasive alien species that shunned technology, using organic bio-tech instead.

This example illustrates one of the key failings of the Dark Side’s entire ideology, and a potential pitfall for any heroism on Vader’s part. The Sith rely too heavily on the Dark Side and see everything through its lens. Their first move will always be a grasp for power, with any benefit to others being a secondary concern that can't redeem the darkness in their hears.
