Did Palpatine sense the same thing?
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Ahsoka episode 6 saw Dark Jedi Baylan Skoll finally reveal a little about his quest to Peridea, and surprisingly Star Wars may have set this up six years ago. Played by the late Ray Stevenson, Baylan Skoll has proved one of the most captivating new characters in Ahsoka. A Jedi who somehow survived Order 66, Baylan has shown himself a force to be reckoned with by single-handedly defeating Ahsoka Tano herself in a duel.
The latest episode of Ahsoka saw Baylan finally tell Padawan Shin Hati a little about his plans. It seems Baylan has sensed a call from Peridea, a summons that he believes has brought him to a place where the great cycles of light side versus dark side first begun. He has noticed the signs of wear and tear on Grand Admiral Thrawn and his troops, and concluded that the Grand Admiral and the Nightsisters are both trying to flee a greater power before they are destroyed.
Baylan May Not Be The First One To Sense This Call Baylan may not be the first one to sense the summons to Peridea. Six years ago, the final book in Chuck Wendig's "Aftermath" trilogy featured one of Palpatine's closest aides, who remembered back to the Emperor's quest into the Unknown Regions. "The Emperor was convinced that something waited for him out there — some origin of the Force, some dark presence formed of malevolent substance. He said he could feel the waves of it radiating out now that the way was clear. The Emperor called it a signal — conveniently one that only he could hear. Even his greatest enforcer, Vader, seemed oblivious to it, and Vader also claimed mastery over the dark Force, did he not? Rax believed Palpatine had gone mad.
The Unknown Regions are a vast, unexplored sector of space toward the Galactic Rim, and it's not difficult to imagine a scenario where Palpatine was actually hearing a summons to Peridea.
