Damon Lindelof's Star Wars movie would have reportedly recast Rey, with an unexpected story meaning Daisy Ridley would have been replaced.
A new Star Wars rumor suggests Damon Lindelof's movie would have recast Rey, in favor of a surprising choice. The last few months have seen a flurry of Star Wars announcements, as Lucasfilm finally cemented their plans for the franchise on the big screen. This didn't just involve new announcements; it also meant acknowledging that certain projects, such as Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron and Kevin Feige's mysterious movie, had been dropped.

According to Sneider, Lindelof's script would have been set 60 years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It would have featured Rey finally deciding to restart the Jedi Order, training two new Padawans - a man and a woman, with Sneider believing both would have been persons of color.
Lucasfilm Made The Right Call Keeping Daisy Ridley As Rey Lucasfilm dropped Lindelof's script, and pivoted to a very different approach. At Star Wars Celebration 2023, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy revealed Daisy Ridley would be returning as Rey in a movie set just 15 years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Ridley is a strong actor, although she was sadly let down by the scripts in the sequel era. She doesn't deserve to be dumped in this manner. Making matters worse, the 60-year time jump would have also introduced another problem; it would have meant John Boyega's Finn never had the opportunity to learn to use the Force, damaging his arc. Finn's potential was wasted by the sequels, and this would be the final insult.
