You can find enemy megaships in Starfield to take down. Here's the story of one such battle.
You…cannot board, as I learned after dying several times. This ship is meant to be destroyed, nothing else .
The ship has probably a dozen different gun turrets, plus its three support ships are level 30-50 and can kill you by themselves as you’re fighting the main ship. My best fighting ship is the Crimson Fleet flagship I stole, but even then I kept dying. So, I played a little cat and mouse. I would warp into the system, focus fire one of the support ships down, then power up my grav drive and warp out of the system, repair, and come back and do it again until just the main ship was left. After a few tries to get behind it , I found it was surprisingly maneuverable, so I changed tactics and did a head-on blitz. It took everything I had in my best ship with max lasers, max ballistics, max shields, max target lock.
So, uh, how do you find these? All I can tell you is that my ship was in the Nirah system. I do not know if they move around, so you’ll have to tell me. I’ve barely seen anyone talking about this, so if they were in set places, I think more people would have found them. I read about one person encountering an Ecliptic megaship on a moon in the Wolf system, but when I went there myself, I couldn’t find anything.
So, any time you see a “ship” icon in a system, go over to it, maybe you’ll find one. Though if yours is in Nirah, let me know, and maybe it is a fixed location after all.
