The series opener kicked off from 8.10pm from Queensland Country Bank Stadium and it was the Blues that dominated early to take a 20-6 lead at half time.
Cleary slotted his seventh conversion of the night to bring up the visitors' half-century, with the score 50-6 in the closing stanza. It was only when he was off the field that Queensland fought their way back into the contest with a late try.Cleary was able to return to the field for the second half.
