Statewide association for electrical contractors accepting applications for its apprenticeship program

Applications will be accepted from Oct. 19 - Oct. 28.

, the state chapter of Independent Electrical Contractors is accepting applications from October 19 to 28 for its apprenticeship program which begins in January.

Individuals accepted into the program work full time as electrical apprentices for electrical contractors and attend employer-paid instructional classes in-person and online. The organization’s apprenticeship program covers residential, commercial and industrial construction and electrical wiring. The four-year program is registered with the U.S. Department of Labor and the Pennsylvania Apprenticeship and Training Council.Officials said the program boasts a 100 percent hiring rate upon completion and graduates are qualified as experienced electricians.

Applicants must be age 17 or over and have a high school diploma or their GED. Those interested can apply atIEC Pennsylvania is based in Silver Spring Township and represents merit-shop and independent electrical and systems contractors in 64 counties in Pennsylvania.
