Jose Da Costa and Shankari Kathirgamalingam are founders of Sydney University’s proposed 1970s society.The friends are the founders of “That ’70s Soc”, a new student club at the University of Sydney. “It’s become a real thing,” she said. “Going to the movies has been a bit of a niche experience , and places that can offer a really full experience make it seem like it’s almost going to the theatre.”Da Costa and Kathirgamalingam hope to organise thrift shopping events, which would help members look the part when they attend planned trivia nights and live jazz events.
