Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry tried to replicate history at Firestone Country Club on Saturday.AKRON, Ohio -- Stephen Curry stood 168 yards from the 18th hole at Firestone Country Club, surrounded by a swath of youth golfers, hoping to replicate history.
Curry was at Firestone on Saturday accepting his 2023 Ambassador of Golf Award for his work with UNDERRATED Golf, which held a tournament at the course this weekend. After posing for pictures with the tournament winners, Curry grabbed the mic and asked if the young golfers would follow him to the fairway. The NBA star gave himself several mulligans. A few shots sailed long over the green and into the rough. Two more sliced right into a greenside bunker.
Call it a humbling experience for Curry, who is regarded as one of the better golfers among pro athletes in other sports.
