Three vehicles collided in a southbound lane of the Bruce Highway at Federal, west of the Sunshine Coast. The crash occurred just after 4am, next to exit 244.

Police have confirmed three people are dead, and a fourth person, a man in his 30s, has been taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition after suffering a head wound.Nine News understands that one of the cars, an Isuzu SUV, had been stolen yesterday afternoon in Gympie, about 30km from where the crash took place.

A 31-year-old mother had been returning to her car with her three young children when she was approached by a man with a knife, who demanded the car.Three people are dead in a major car crash on the Bruce Highway in Queensland.
