A stolen electric wheelchair has been returned to its owner after it was found abandoned in a suburb west of Adelaide.The wheelchair was found abandoned at Cowandilla, about a kilometre from where it was stolenThe wheelchair has now been returned to its owner

SA Police had appealed to the public for help after the wheelchair was stolen from its owner's backyard at Richmond between Monday night and Tuesday morning.As part of investigations,wanted over the theft, with one of the suspects filmed riding up and down the street on the stolen device. The CCTV showed the pair stealing the wheelchair on Tuesday morning, with the woman riding it while the man walks nearby.A member of the public called police at about 12:30am on Saturday when she noticed there was a wheelchair abandoned in front of her Cowandilla home.SAPOL said officers had returned the wheelchair to its owner.

Western District detectives thanked members of the public who nominated people of interest after they released the CCTV footage, and said investigations were continuing.
