COVID now has as any seasons as Star Trek.

I don't need a seatbelt. I have an immune system. One of the most predictable events of the last calendar year was the refusal of the MAGA crowd to get vaccinated and then blame President Biden for not ending the pandemic. They point to the ongoing pandemic as proof the vaccine doesn’t work and it’s tough explaining to people who willingly listen to Ben Shapiro that a vaccine only works if you take it.

The conclusion to this ridiculous, self-inflicted plague is for everyone to stop doing their own research. They’re very bad at it. Any ‘research’ that has you treating a coronavirus with oregano oil and a crystal is likely not peer-reviewed. The paper you read on Facebook suggesting you drink cleaning fluids and take medication with photos of livestock on the label may not stand up to strict scientific scrutiny. Aaron Rodgers does not work for the National Institutes of Health.

Starting in the Regan era, Republicans have sought to undermine faith and trust in government, and apparently, they’ve done a pretty good job. The erosion of trust in our institutions, hand-fed by a right-wing media ecosystem, has given rise to the distrust and conspiratorial thinking that has led a not-insignificant portion of the population to believe that a life-saving vaccine is a secret mind-control scheme devised by the evil genius who brought us the Zune.

Nobody’s trying to put a chip in your brain because, frankly, you’re not that important. Everything they need to know from you they get through the chip in your pocket. A chip you pay Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc. a hefty monthly fee to carry. The vaccines are a shining example of the good government can do. The refusal to take them is proof of the harm politics can do.
