I looked into their eyes and saw a weary existence; I saw hunger, poverty, sickness and horrific dead ends.Walking the streets of Gaza full of trash and rubble, I met a few teenagers wearing Hamas shirts. I asked them why they launch rockets at Israel.

, which used to belong to my country of Syria. I met young Israeli soldiers on the borders with their guns loaded and ready. Standing on that plateau, I wondered if the two countries can ever be at peace. What would it take? Why can’t they sit around a table and stop all the killings? Yes, it’s complicated, but most worthy things are.
