The storm is expected to bring 'exceptionally wet' conditions across certain regions of the country.
A severe amber weather warning has been put in place for certain areas of Scotland as Storm Babet is set to hit in the coming days, with fears that it may still get worse.
The updated warning has also sparked concern that it may change to a rare red level, which is when it is "very likely there will be a risk to life". The last red warning issued in Scotland was in November 2021 during Storm Arwen. Drivers should also take extra care whilst out on the roads as "difficult driving conditions" are expected thanks to spray and flooding. This also means that small communities may become cut off, with the weather also potentially causing structural damage to homes.“There’s some high totals which have the potential to disrupt travel plans… possibility of power cuts as well as the obvious risk of flooding.
