The storm will continue to bring continuous rainfall on Saturday, but may end earlier than expected.
A series weather warnings for rain issued by the Met Office this week have been updated as parts of the country endure risk to life from high floodwaters. Now, the forecaster has said some of these alerts will end earlier than expected.
Meanwhile, two amber alerts also in place will end slightly earlier, with one across the Highlands now set to end at 10pm, while a separate warning spreading across Angus, Aberdeen and Grampian will end at 6pm. Elsewhere in the east a series of yellow alerts are in place. Posting on Twitter, he said: “A red weather Warning remains in place for Angus & parts of Aberdeenshire. Please comply with the advice being given, particularly if you are asked to evacuate, it is for your own safety.
