Relative Strangers by street photographer Teri Vershel highlights the unseen connections in the everyday. Vershel weaves a narrative through feeling, subtle gestures and colour.
Humans are intersecting and inhabiting shared connections every day, in multiple ways, and most of the time not realising it. Vershel notices these nuanced and thought-provoking similarities and celebrates them in her book Vershel explains: ‘I’ve been a people watcher all my life and I am always striking up conversations with strangers I meet every day on the street, so continuing in this vein with a camera feels natural’
In his foreword, Sam Abell, writes that each of Teri’s images can and should be read ‘as a stand-alone aesthetic experience’. But the design of this book offers another intriguing opportunity: to see individual images as one half of an arresting duet
