That being said, Capcom would certainly not be expecting to have already created a controversy surrounding their announcement.
This year, the Street Fighter series will celebrate its 35th anniversary, so it makes sense that Capcom would use this opportunity to release a new entry into the franchise. It has also been eight years since the release of Street Fighter 5 in 2016, which was roughly the same amount of time between that game and Street Fighter 4's release.
While most of the roasting of this new logo is simply for fun and a part of everyday Twitter discourse, it also demonstrates the concern of fans that Capcom is forgetting, or even erasing, what makes the Street Fighter series so beloved. Of course, aside from a new logo and a very short teaser trailer, fans know very little about Street Fighter 6's quality and gameplay so it is a little soon to be worried about the game.
