NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet said a draft excerpt of an independent review of former deputy premier John Barilaro’s appointment to a New York trade role had raised questions about Ayres’ engagement with the recruitment process.
Perrottet said the draft review that he had seen “raises questions” relating to matters with respect to Ayres. Ayres has been under pressure for several days now, as new documents revealed his level of involvement with the hiring process.
