King challenges his side to hit the heights against 'biggest club in the country' again
Stuart King says his Carrick Rangers side will "give it a rattle" when Linfield visit the Loughview Leisure Arena this evening.
Victory over Dundela in the Co Antrim Shield on Tuesday night made it four wins on the bounce for King's men. And while the Carrick boss was delighted to reach his first senior final as a manager, he wasn't happy with the performance and told his players it will need to improve against the league leaders."I know David was there on Tuesday night and he probably went away laughing as he wouldn't have been threatened by what we produced," he said."They are the biggest club in the country. I don't care what anyone says."We went to Loughgall on Saturday and were outstanding.
"We had never taken a point off Glentoran, we've done that; we had never got a point at Windsor and we've done that; now we've got into a semi-final for the first time in a long time."Of course there have been games when we haven't been good, but there have been a lot more positives than negatives this season.
"We obviously beat them at home last season. I've players like Andrew Mitchell, who was so good for me that day, still unavailable, so the more and more we get back the better it will hopefully be."
