A shooting at Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee, resulted in the death of one female student and injuries to another. The 17-year-old shooter, also a student at the school, died by suicide. Two school resource officers were present during the incident but were not near the cafeteria where the shooting took place. This tragedy comes nearly two years after a separate shooting at a Nashville private school, prompting calls for gun control measures which were ultimately rejected by the state legislature.

A spokesman for Vanderbilt University Medical Centre in Nashville, Tennessee, told TV station News 2 that another student was treated for an eye injury that happened after the shooting.
