Several parents and their children were at Drag Queen Storytime at Brisbane Square Library yesterday afternoon when the students attempted to disrupt the event. 9News
Brisbane City Council and the LNP have been quick to distance themselves from the protesters.
"The small group of people involved in this completely inappropriate display do not in any way represent how we as a Council and the LNP feels, and it will not and never will be tolerated," she told the Brisbane Times. A spokesman for Queensland opposition leader Deb Frecklington also said the group had been disendorsed by the LNP and asked to "desist from using the party's name and colours".
