Nieve McKay wrote 12,002 words on the hit movie, saying it was 'so lovely to see so many girls re-embracing their girly side'
A marketing student has written her final year dissertation on the Barbie movie - and she even had a supervisor named Ken. University of Stirling student Nieve McKay wrote 12,002 words on the hit movie, student news site The Tab reports.
"I knew I wanted to have an Elle Woods sort of moment with my topic,” she said. “Something that on the surface seemed pink and silly but explored something deeper while still being interesting for people to read.” "It was such a beautiful and thought-provoking film and the more people saw it, the more people talked about it. It was just even more like we were living in Barbie world.”
“It was so lovely to see so many girls re-embracing their girly side whether it was wearing pink again or wearing bows in their hair. Last summer just felt like one for the girls.” Nieve said that her dissertation supervisor - whose name happened to be Ken - was "so supportive and enthusiastic about the topic."
