Carbar is trying to encourage Aussies to ditch car ownership and subscribe to them instead, with easy access to electric vehicles a big selling point.

Mr Hang declined to say how many subscribers Carbar has, saying the figures were commercially sensitive in a globally competitive market. However, he said active subscriber numbers had increased by 2000 per cent since the 2019 funding round. He said Carbar’s recently released Future Mobility and Finance report found that increasing petrol prices are driving more Australians to adopt EVs, with one-third of Australian drivers now intending to adopt an EV in the next two years.The rise of electric vehicles is also inspiring energy companies to move in on the automotive sector, and Carbar has signed on to be the provider of EV subscription programs being run by AGL, sonnen and Aurora Energy.
Seven West Media’s head of Seven West Ventures, Alan Stuart, said it would work with Carbar to help it accelerate its growth and make more Australians realise the value in car subscriptions and EV technology.
